Your chapter's moniker or nickname (ie. Bold Beta Chapter, Legendary Lambda Chapter, etc.) should never be used in any professional fraternal documents including program flyers, letterheads, proposals, etc. However, the use of chapter monikers on paraphernalia and in hashtags are permitted.

CHAPTER MONIKER

COLORS

The colors that represent our fraternity's brand are also valuable assets. We must ensure we use the proper colors at all times to create a unified brand.

Our colors consist of two primary colors (brown and gold), and two secondary colors (white and red).

Primary colors should be used on all public documents and images such as letterheads, flyers, and presentations.

Secondary colors may only be used within the crest or when the crest's explicit quadrants are being used, however as white is widely used as a neutral color, it may be used in conjunction with our primary colors. The sole combination of brown and white is never to be used.

CMYK and Pantone color codes are for print, while RGB and Hex color codes are for the web and mobile.

TYPOGRAPHY

Proper font usage allows for legibility of all fraternal documents including flyers and presentations.

Our logo uses the Stellar font family. Stellar must be used for all titles, headlines, and subheadings.

Helvetica Neue should be used for body/paragraph text

Whenever our Greek letters need to be displayed, use the Greek Caps font.

THIS WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO USE OUR FRATERNITY'S BRAND

Our logo is the cornerstone of our fraternity’s brand and one of our most valuable and visible assets. Due to this, we must ensure proper usage of our logo.

Our logo consists of our full name, La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc., along with our shield that contains our symbol. The shield and symbol may only appear in a combination of brown, gold, and white. Any other color combinations including red are not allowed.

Spacing around the logo should be 2 times the height of the capital “La Unidad Latina” letters.

The shield and the wordmark can be used separately as needed, in addition to the vertical version below.

FRATERNAL CREST

RETIRED CRESTS

These crests are outdated and should not be used to represent our fraternity.

HAND SIGN

Our hand sign is an essential way to promote La Hermandad in person and through photography. This is the proper way to adjust your hand. An Hermano should never link with another Hermano’s hand sign. An Hermano must also never present the hand sign with his arms crossed.

CHAPTER SHIRT

The Chapter Crossing Shirt is awarded to members who successfully complete New Membership Education by their respective chapter.

The color of the crossing shirt is up to the tradition of the chapter (typically white t-shirt or gold t-shirt). The greek letters are 4” tall. Hermano names for the back are 2” tall. Line numbers for the back are 8” tall.

The right sleeve consists of the semester and year crossed, while the left has the chapter letters and line letters.

HERMANO SHIRT

The National Hermano Shirt is to be worn whenever there are national events to showcase our Hermandad.

The color of the Hermano shirt must be Gold (sometimes referred to as Yellow-Gold). The Greek letters must be in the “GreekCaps” or “Mega Greek” Font, Gold letters with a Brown outline. Every non-greek letter/number will be in “JERSEY M54” Font.

The back, right, and left areas are optional for the National Hermano shirt.

PARA USAGE

There are certain limitations when it comes to paraphernalia usage. Whenever our symbol or letters are being used, only brown, gold, and white can be used. However, the combination of brown and white by themselves is not allowed.

The use of red is strictly used for ceremonial purposes and should not be displayed in public. Please refer to the fraternal manual for proper usage. Other colors are strictly prohibited.
